Humira and lymphoma????

I have been on it for 7 years it is the only medicine that has helped in the 14 years i have had Crohns, but talking to a coworker today she said she knew someone who was on it and got lymphoma...Just curious if anyone knew someone or is taking it and has had any kind of rection like this!? kind of scares the heck out of me but at the same time it saved my life. I know all meds have serious side effects but any feedback i would appreciate thanks! Cause since Humira i feel GREAT!!!!

It's a slim possibility my doc said but I've been on it for a long time also. I actually have 2.5 full sharps containers I need to get rid of. I called the 800 # and they said in az just throw em in the garbage! Huh? Med waste? Then I read to deal them in heavy laundry detergent bottle and toss. Weird az. No special disposal. Hope I never have to rummage Round the landfill looking for that $100k I tossed by accident! Hehe

bellavita - The cancer risk with biologics is based on some original studies when the drug first came out. There are warnings that a very rare form of cancer might be more likely with biologics but still very rare. The link Ides provided above is studying the cancer risk on actual patients taking these drugs. So far, the cancer risk is not worse for the actual patient population.
