I think you need more information from your doctor. Ask exactly where the Crohn's is located (what part of your intestines) and how severe he believes it to be. Also, you may want to find out if your lab work looks ok. Specifically, ask about anemia, inflammation markers, and white blood count. If you have a great deal of inflammation, or a stricture or a fistula, then you may want to consider medication. If it is only mild disease, then you may want to watch and wait. I suggest you go to the Crohn's and colitis website at www.ccfa.org. Read about Crohn's disease and develop a list of questions. Crohn's can be very mild, but it can be serious, even with no symptoms. I think you need more information in order to make an informed decision.
