In 8 years the symptoms have never lasted this long with no relief..of course no food which is fine..any thoughts?

Are you vomiting or having D, or is it more obstruction like pain? Is the pain coming in contraction like waves? If you are concerned that it may be an obstruction, then I think it's time to head to the ER. Gastroenteritis (stomach flu) is going around, so it's also possible that you have gotten sick. Trust yourself, and if you are worried, call your GI back, or head to the ER. Let us know how you are doing.

Can't really add much to what gumby said. If you think it might be an obstruction, then I'd go to ER pretty soon, because 19 hours is a long time to see no change at all.
Signs of an obstruction are: severe wave-like pain; nausea/vomiting; absence of bowel sounds; no BMs (though in the early stages of an obstruction you may pass whatever is in your colon); general feeling of malaise, like you're at death's door. You might also feel a constant sense of pressure at the site of the obstruction.
And when you hear gurgling which resembles a coffee percolator, that's a sign that the obstruction is starting to shift.
Good luck.

I'm glad you are feeling better. I hope it never happens again, but if it does you will know the symptoms and then maybe you can go to the ER sooner. I've only had one partial obstruction, but I do live in terror of having another one. Like you, I stayed home way too long waiting to feel better, and I wish I had gone to the hospital sooner, as the IV's and pain meds were like magic!
