Humira 3 rd dose and still getting sick

Hi all! Ive posted before about this but its kind of an update
So i had a first dose of humira in early jan. I was pretty sick after with diarrhea and vomiting and could barely eat for 2 weeks. (Loading dose). Then i got a bacterial infection was on antibiotics and had to wait 1 month for next dose

I saw the GI and he was sure that it had been something else that caused the side effects

Thats not my opinion

Since then ive had my 2 nd(2doses). And sunday my first 1 shot.
Well every time i do my doses i get sick. I vomited monday and tuesday and almost didnt make it wenesday. Major nausea and not feeling great.

Next week it will be a bit better but i dont really like the idea of being sick one week out of two all the time

Anyone else have this??? I find it hard and discouraging to think that im the only one the meds are making so sick.

My GI is "backed up" this month and i cant see him. ( i almost craped my self when the lady said that over the phone lol)

But at least next week im getting a second opinion.

Hi! Nope you are not alone on being sick with side effects from Humira. I was so sick and could not keep anything down at all. I did get a bacterial infection as well. Plus I get diarrhea anyway, but for me it got a lot worse. Nausea so bad I just could not eat and if I did here it came right back up. Not fun at all. From what my Dr said some people do get bad side effects and bacterial infections as well. Some other people do great on Humira. As for me the med made me so ill, very ill.

I don't have those symptoms, but I do get very tired the day of and after I take my shot.
They can't explain why I'm exhausted.

Sorry you guys are struggling with your Humira!! I just did my loading doses and thankfully haven't had any of the issues you guys are describing. Next week I'm down to just one shot (every 2 weeks from then on out) my GI told me about all the possible side effects, he said that if the med is healing me then that's the main thing and it's only the severe side effects that cause them concern and any minor ones are outweighed by my CD "healing".

It's common to get the "tireds" from Humira, lots of people have mentioned getting very tried on it...hopefully it will go away for those that experience it. As far as the other more unpleasant side effects, you should definitely talk to your doc, keep in mind though as well, if overall Humira is helping with your CD then you might want to consider fighting through and hopefully the vomiting issues and all will stop all together at some point soon.

Good luck and keep updating as I find it helpful since I too am new to Humira.
