I'm sorry about
your mother. Getting gastic cancer was supremely unfortunate. But that's not actually the same thing as a peptic ulcer.
I didn't say a word about
your son's condition. As for lack of IBD in your family, there's a
recessive IBD gene. Recessive means it can skip a few generations, so there's a possibility there might have been ancestors who've had Crohn's or UC that you didn't know about
.
Hygiene and germs may have something to do with Crohn's, but again, nothing which has been proven.
As far as I'm concerned, we are decades or centuries away from a cure for Crohn's. I do not expect to see a cure in my lifetime.
