Waiting for diagnosis

Thought I would come and finally post after reading pages and pages or research on crohns. I have been having trouble for years(since high school) and kept it a secret for many years to embarrassed to even tell my doctor. A couple of years ago I was sitting in a course for work when I began to have really bad pain in the righty side. I figured maybe it was a touch of food poisoning as the lunch had been catered. Te pain kept gettin worse and I figured that it would stop once I got home but it sure didn't. about 5 hours after the pain started my boyfriend found me curled up on the floor so he loaded me up in the truck and took me to our er. They figured it was a bad bladder infection but nothing pointed towards that so they drew blood and had my dad run it to the next town over to be analyzed. My white blood cell count was sky hi so I ended up getting thrown back in a truck and being drove an hour to a bigger hospital as they figured it was my appendix. Ct showed t wasn't so they loaded me up wih drugs and sent me home. They never looked into it further. This happened twice more and thy ruled out my gallbladder and pretty much everything else. The only thing that was ever found was the fact I have a fatty liver ( which I am a runner and watch everything. That goes in my mouth) finally I got a referal to a gi and she said with a family history as strong as mine (2 cousins with sever crohns and my grandmother had colitis) I should have been referred sooner. She did the colonoscopy and I remember when she was doing it she said it looked like the start of crohns and then she ordered a barium of my small intestine . That came back normal. Still waiting on the results of colonoscopy (months) and now have been stuck in the bathroom for over a week. I actually tried going to the grocery story and came out with bm running down my leg..... Sorry for the long story just hoping for some answers soon to get rid of this pain and the constant need to be near a toilet

I'm sorry you're feeling so sick! We all know what it's like to be stuck in the bathroom. It sounds like you finally got to a doctor who can help you, which is really great, but what I don't understand is why the results are taking so long. What kind of tests did they run? Biopsies and lab tests should take a week at most. Is it just that the doc's office is being lazy about giving them to you? Have you tried to call the doctor to push for the results? I would keep calling every week until they get so tired of you calling that they get the results for you. In the mean time, can your GI treat you with anything? I would ask because if you're so unwell that you're having accidents at the grocery store, you need medical attention. I'm sure it's hard to be stuck in limbo. I hope you get your results soon!
