Lets not get get to far off topic here. . . the main focus is teragram and feeling better. The good news is she is maybe getting BETTER!!! yeast or no yeast.. the S. Boulardii may have worked for her. and also removing the FOS etc. One of the reasons I chimed in on this topic and trend. """TERAGRAM""" The Ibd is not a per say a yeast test its a CROHNS and Colitis test which is used as a tool in the tool box of many tests that are at hand. If one wants to test YEAST(specific) for an allergy the best bet is to the do the ELSIA act bios http://www.elisaact.com/nonhc/our-unique-testing-method.asp test testing IGG IGM IGA TCELL and immune complex . A delayed allergy test testing all at the same time. far better then the standard instant allergy test IGE prick test you receive at your local doctor. Or extending that to the CAP rast.. the problem is with food the same may happen with yeast.. why I point to the ELISA ACT is with food you see almost all of us get no answers at an allergy doc with crohns/colitis we are told to make a food journal. Yet if you test the IGE antibodies at the allergy office you know foods make you flare and you cant eat them or you know your allergic to them , they make you have a reaction ( flare) yet they cant find anything. We all have food journals but test out fine ????
The IBD is a crohns and colits test. As others have said there are many other antibodies which I posted as well in this trend. these were the most popular that come up for testing
http://books.google.com/books?id=1dnxloxhm8cC&pg=PA164&lpg=PA164&dq=antimannobioside++carbohydrate+antibodies&source=bl&ots=3upZt-5g_R&sig=_4yNqYgyIfJK4-TsBe5jx99Mb_8&hl=en&sa=X&ei=y_ZCU6n2KdPC2gXjuoEI&ved=0CIIBEOgBMAk#v=onepage&q=antimannobioside%20%20carbohydrate%20antibodies&f=false
For the sake of this trend I am speaking on yeasts and the IBD expanded panel. this test tests the following antibodies. I will say elevated antibodies not reactive as not to offend others on here. this test checks to see what antibodies are elevated and are used as a tool in the stage of diagnoses
the following tested with labcorp 162045
Antichitobioside carbohydrate antibodies (ACCA)
Chitobiose
antilaminaribioside carbohydrate antibodies (ALCA)
antilaminaribioside disaccharide/ laminaribiose
one example is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disaccharide and
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laminaribiose
antimannobioside carbohydrate antibodies (AMCA)
anti-Saccharomyces cerevisiae antibodies (gASCA)
atypical perinuclear antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (pANCA)
One can research each one of these antibodies and what they mean on there on. for the purpose of this trend I did that pasting it in. Its was not factual as I didnt paste hundreds of links. any one can search these to find out what they mean. FOR the purpose of this trend I gave that info , but one can research on there own. The IBD is not a classified as YEAST test but is a tool. the out come of your results read the following if you do it. The tests Aids in the diagnosis of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and the differential diagnosis of Crohn's disease (CD) and ulcerative colitis (UC); prognostic aid for clinical management of patients with CD. Results of this panel should be used in conjunction with clinical findings and other laboratory tests-- which I also explained saying I used this in conjunction with 4 other NON standard tests at the same time.. Results are explained below
When the only positive marker is pANCA, the interpretive comment on the report will read: "Suggestive of ulcerative colitis."
When only one of ACCA, ALCA, AMCA, or gASCA is positive and pANCA is negative, the interpretive comment will read: "Suggestive of Crohn's disease. Pattern is not conclusive for disease behavior risk stratification."
When only one of ACCA, ALCA, AMCA, or gASCA is positive and pANCA is positive, the interpretive comment will read: "Suggestive of inflammatory bowel disease. Pattern is not conclusive for any specific disease form."
When any two of ACCA, ALCA, AMCA, or gASCA are positive and pANCA is positive or negative, the interpretive comment will read: "Suggestive of Crohn's disease with high risk of aggressive disease behavior (development of strictures or fistulae)."
When any three or more of ACCA, ALCA, AMCA, or gASCA are positive and pANCA is positive or negative, the interpretive comment will read: "Suggestive of Crohn's disease with the very high risk of aggressive disease behavior (development of strictures or fistulae)."
When all markers are negative, the interpretive comment on the report will read: "Pattern is not suggestive of inflammatory bowel disease."
Now How I say this test is useful in the purposes of this trend YEAST.. two of the markers they test if you look them up deal with yeast.. So for the purspose of the trend why im going in detail. As S. Boullardi, is listed / fall under the bakers brewers area. This is a GOOD yeast there are good yeasts and bad yeasts. Yeast are also classified as FUNGUS. where im going with this is . Lab corp and my insurance company classify the IBD EXPANDED panel as a FUNGUS test. My insurance is UNITED HEALTH CARE. If you look up own your own each antibody you can see what each mean. Why I think this test would benefit while playing with yeast. FOR me as I posted I re took this test over many times in a 2 year period. While taking antifugal drugs My antibodies came down. I know this as Ive eaten the same extact foods for 2 years.. for testing purposes. One can have antibodies move up and down from foods as well. I pointed that out as well showing my ALCA dropping
For me As my antibodies lowered , using many others tests at the same time (which the IBD EXPAMDED PANEL says to ) I noticed as this antibody dropped My Lysozyme dropped --its
is an enzyme secreted at the site of inflammation in the GI tract and elevated levels
have been identified in IBD patients. mine went from 1300 to 71 .. normal is below 600. when this happen , My good bacteria started to rise-- and I was able to make more fatty chain acids..
Short chain fatty acids (SCFAs):SCFAs arethe end product of the bacterial fermentation
process of dietary fiber by beneficial flora in the gut and play an important role in the health of the
GI as well as protecting against intestinal dysbiosis.
at the same time there are Intestinal Microbial Overgrowth
Yeast and Fungal Markers that can be looked at..
Citramalic
5-Hydroxymethyl-2-furoic
3-Oxoglutaric
Furan-2,5-dicarboxylic
Furancarbonylglycine
Tartaric
Arabinose
Carboxycitric
Tricarballylic
Which all were high ....and dropped.. As you look read and learn with these diseases. there is no focus on the role of yeasts in this disease. Doctors do not look at or seek out markers for this. let alone understand any thing about it.. You see people like american gut and bioume are using the RNA16 scan and now finding and comparing what people have in there guts to try and figure out the comparisons and how diseases relate to your microbes and diet.. Its already proven you loose all you good microbes when you take antibotics. The next area is the scan of RNA18 the fungus and its role. They can do this but it is far more expense right now. No one knows for certain the roles of each bacteria or FUNGUS/yeast
for me I focus more on the yeast side.. not bacteria. For me I see the importance of BOTH. many researchers do as well, but have to focus on each side first. What I have found in may studies and studies im taking part in. IS that -- with out any of the fatty chain acids are good bacteria produce and ferment your never going to get well with out them. the key is finding why your not. Which people like William Shaw, Ph.D http://www.greatplainslaboratory.com/home/eng/founder.asp have ponted out that YEAST and BACTERIA play a major role in auto immune diseases ADHD arthritis etc. the problem is so many people BLAST you if you point that out. there are many like this man who continue to dig and pull back the rug looking. With the FDA he tried to point to the role of yeast and bacteria, he finally left as the overwhelming majority were more into DRUGS not causes,.
I ve taken many of these experts data and looked over them. Some have blasted me for talking about the IBD expanded panel.. this is just one tool in a tool box.. People get so FOCUSED in on just this test if you mention it. and yada yada is not useful.. yet many have never done it or understand there are many things factored in with it. as well what many of the antibodies are and food chemicals etc fall under each antibody. We all are here.. to get well , IF some one tries to point out new and un chartered things, theres no reason to get blasted or blast anyone.. We see the things the standard tests do and we are all sick... on meds and use repeated antibotics.. which from history we see fail many of us.
For me , ive seen the compo nets of BACTERIA and yeasts being the problem in my disease. At the on set I had ulcer colitis and crohns.. today both seem to be gone.. I am lucky to have some extra funds( not many do) and Im able to use some of the non standard tests... retesting to see the effects of foods... drugs and supplements. YEAST and BACTERIA play a role... until doctors other then those in advanced research see this.. I dont really dont see any changes . Just new meds to turn off the immune system.
I am super happy teragram you are feeling better... IF we could only see in thru a window or document changes.. and log tests / results we all on here could compare more.. and maybe see why we are experiencing what we are. I find it interesting the Saccaromyces Boullardi is working / or maybe the loss of FOS etc.. but for me WHY and did you have elevated antibodies maybe you had high AMCA and the Saccaromyces Boullardi helped chomp down on some candida and cdiff...
at the same time maybe you dont have antibodies to ASCA why the Saccaromyces Boullardi works so well. for me I know I have some sort of problem with candida which is playing a role in my disease...
no sugar- starches- grains i function well...
Add them in - they may be feeding my yeasts causing my disease.. higher yeasts lower you good bacteria ,,, as long as i limit these foods I have no disease. My goal is to understand why,, I thought to use Saccaromyces Boullardi but have been scared to do so.. introducing anther yeast even thou it is said to be good.
As well I can coral ate foods my body was reactive to to foods yeast and certain strains of bacteria I had over populated ate... those are down others are up , I now can eat many of those foods...
