I have a medical marijuana card here in California and have found it to be a good therapy, but, like you, I'm not always up for the "side effects," so I kind of go through phases of using it and then leaving it alone for a while. I've been reading about
a CBD oil that is supposed to be great for inflammation. The doctor from whom I got my prescript
ion recommended taking a bit of it orally, in the evening, every other day. I'm thinking of trying it. I believe one of the goals in current research and testing is to find an oil that is really minimal in side effects.
As far as the medical grade stuff, it does tend to affect you in the same way as the recreational stuff. There are different strains that produce different effects, and the way you take them will cause these effects to vary (such as smoking, vaporizing, ingesting).
I haven't had a lot of luck in ameliorating pain with MM, but it kills nausea dead for me, helps me sleep, and will pick up my appetite (mixed blessing, that last one!).
Sorry I'm not so helpful, but everyone does react differently, and if you're willing to do a little experimenting, you might find a strain/amount/delivery system that can be helpful with side effects that you're ok with. Best wishes.
