wow.. im amazed that you are as sane are you are after all you went through! Crazy people dont know that they are crazy. You have PTSD and from the way they treated you inpatient, it would only sane to wonder if they screwed something up! Did you file a complaint with the hospital for unnecessary medical trauma?
Im sorry you are going through this. Dont loose your voice due to fear. I would focus on how to be a strong advocate for yourself. Also, when you document everything and people see it, they are less likely to be careless. Dont let anyone stick you with things or do anything without you documenting every medication and format of procedure before they do it. It is your right to be medically informed and make choices.
Im not saying this is good advice but if I were put in that situation where they said I was going to get a nasty IV put it with no sedation, I would have told them, "no, Id rather die". When you say stuff like this, they usually give you sedation. In my mind, its ok to be a pill every now and then to get what you need.
Make sure you get a solid dx of PTSD so you can get differential treatment in the future.
Using guided imagery, meditation, breathing, yoga...Keep talking to others. Draw, write, sing, mentor someone....anything that is empowering. medications are not always so helpful. Take back your life.
It would be nice to say that this will never happen again, but there are no guarantees. the one thing you do know for sure is that you lived through it once, so you can live through something terrible again and still be here....but if it does happen again, you will be stronger and more resilient. Im saying this out of personal experience...not medical but other life situations.
Trauma is an opportunity to get a loud voice and trust your spirit.
