Anal fissure question

I don't think this sounds like something you should attempt at home. You've got to get this situation evaluated by a doctor. If you currently have a fissure (not sure from your post if the fissue is now or in the past), I'd advise you wait until it has WELL HEALED before you have a doctor examine you, and even then ask him to be extremely gentle. You don't want the doctor getting all enthusiastic and making the situation worse with his "investigation" (ask me how I know that can happen.)

I wouldn't worry about shaving before your appointment. Humans have body hair....butt doctors have to be used to it, and I'm sure they can work with your body as it is to evaluate the situation. If the doctor feels something needs to be removed, they will shave you before the procedure if that needs to happen, and I can tell you from personal experience that having them shave you is much better than attempting it yourself. But just a warning - it will itch like crazy when the hair grows back. :(

If you want to try something before being examined and you currently have a GI that is open to that, you could try some Hydrocortisone, Budesonide, or Canasa suppositories. Depending on the situation, one of those medications might help the bleeding if the problem is located in the rectal area.

Is the blood bright red? Or dark red? Tags can bleed and bright red blood could be a sign of this. You're not going to die on the toilet! But get your symptoms checked out, a lot of bleeding may mean your disease isn't controlled.

Anal tags are common for Crohn’s of the rectum. I had several before my rectum was removed. I hated them, they were hard to keep clean, caused pain, and made me very self-conscious. That being said, the general consensus seems to be that removing them would make things worse. They are not like hemmies or regular skin tags. Most docs who deal with that sort of thing won’t even consider removing them if you have Crohn’s because it can cause anal incontinence. Additionally, because we (people with IBD) are lucky, anal tags which result from Crohn’s will most likely come back after being removed. Before I knew what they were, I asked about having mine removed and was told it wouldn’t help. Just do your best to keep them clean- wipes, sitz baths, and a removable shower head helped me- and try to address any active disease you may have. I used Prep-H and Tucks medicated wipes before my surgery. Fissures suck and eventually get better; the tags don’t in my experience.

Also, don't worry about the hair. It's something that medical pros are used to and if you need surgery, they will take care of it. Burning or cutting yourself with a home wax/shave job could be worse than just having hair.
