question about vaccine impact

Hello all, I have CD for about 10 years, and currently on 6-MP.

I may have to get some vaccines soon (immunization requirements for immigration).
The vaccine list includes hepatitis-B.

I am worried about having to take these vaccines. What are the risks associated?

Someone I know took the vaccine for hepatitis-B, which resulted in "vaccine triggered Atypical Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome", a type of kidney disease.

While he does not have CD (he has a rare genetic mutation), this news made me think about the impact of vaccines in general, especially on those with CD.

My husband has Crohn's disease and he didn't have the time to wait to take the vaccines before he started remicade because he was very very sick with crohns and needed to start remicade right away. Since then, he has had several vaccines since we travelled to india to visit my family. The only ones he did not take were the ones with a live virus like chicken pox. I am fairly certain he took hep a abd b. he didn't have any issues with the vaccines. I'm not sure his body formed the necessary antibodies to actually get immunity though because his immune system is suppressed by remicade. But taking the vaccines didn't hurt him.

My GI told me not to take vaccines containing live viruses. Why don't you call your GI to be on the safe side?
