Tooth Extraction while on Remicade?

I have two teeth sheared off at the gumline, and a third one that had a cavity and was filled but has since broken off a bit. I need to have all 3 extracted but my appointment on Friday quickly turned into a consultation instead when they found out I was on Remicade. Apparently they say they've had complications in the past, I was going to ask what kind of complications but decided not to.

I guess they want to plan out the best time to do it with my GI, ironically I'm right in between my 8 week infusions.

I'm curious if nayone has had to have an extraction while on Remicade and how it went.

Could be anything, some people may need antibiotics before this type of dental work or there may be other reasons.  But I googled, and it came back a link to a previous thread from this forum:

I have Crohns and PSC. I am on Humira. I had a tooth with a crown that broke and my dentist wouldn't pull it because the healling process would be long and the chance of infection is to high. He put a post back in and disinfected it then he cemented over it. I had a tooth put onto my particle. I have to okay anything I do with my GI.

Interesting. I just had 4 teeth pulled in July. Two upper wisdom teeth, and two molars that went bad. They did give me antibiotics, but did not care that I was on Cimzia.

I belive mine is the combine of Humira and a chronic liver disease. Most of the medications a Dentist uses is metobalized in the liver.
