*scraps post* Just noticed you're on co-codamol which is a combination of paracetamol and codeine. Was about to say cold medications are fine, but most of them contain paracetamol, so no, not fine. Decongestants should be okay, but check the ingredients. You don't want to risk an accidental overdose. For the record, 4g (4000mg) of paracetamol per 24 hours is the recommended maximum dose an adult should take.
NSAIDs (ibuprofen, aspirin) won't do a thing for a cold other than to help break a fever if you have one.
