Cizmia and remicade are in the same biologic class, so they are equally aggressive....most people start with Remicade, I think because it has good success. The 6MP and Entocort may work well for you too. If you want to take 6MP make sure that the doc gets a blood test called TMPT to test to see if you are a good candidate prior to taking it, and then get regular blood tests after that. There is a risk of pancreatitis or hepatitis with 6MP, but if you are having your blood monitored, you can get off of it if it is making you sick. Also, 6MP takes about 3 months to work, but with the Entocort on board that shouldn't be an issue. I know these are hard decisions to make.
You didn't do anything wrong btw. With mild Crohn's, a lot of docs will do a round of Entocort and then watch and wait, especially if the Pentasa was no help. Don't blame yourself for this. It's just a lousy disease!
