Mucus in stool ?

Hey guys it's me again,i've noticed that whenever i have constipation or just more hard ball like stool i have this sort of mucus in it!It's noticable and it sticks to the stool and it's kind of yellow-ish,brownish,clearish,i thought it was puss since i had fistule and fisure problems,but it's not that i'm sure!!Whenever i have these problems i have problems in blood counts,fever,pain,swelling,dhirraria etc. and i don't have these symptoms,also i'm on Imuran and Humira and i've been in remmision for about 11 months now!!!I just want to ask about your opinions,if it's from the stomach or intestens or something.Thanks in advance! tongue
Alsooo i will have my new monthly blood counts check tomorrow so i will keep you updated to see if i have any problems :-)

Mucous like that is usually from the rectum. It's not necessarily a problem if it only happens when you are constipated. When you have active rectal inflammation there will be so much mucous sometimes that you have the urge to defecate just from that alone.

If you have a history of rectal inflammation you might want to talk to your GI about checking things out to make sure your current treatment protocol is covering this. If not, you can add suppositories or enemas and hopefully resolve any rectal inflammation.

Thank you soo much about the advice!!!I will ask my GI about this and thank god it's nothing serious.When i have an active rectal inflamation i have mucous coming out all the time.This is not the case,but there is a little inflamation now.I will ask my GI for the suppositories and the enemas :) thank you!

I'm in clinical remission from my crohn's (on Humira) and I too have some constipation and mucous issues...my GI recently explained to me that excess mucous means that your GI tract still isn't happy...he believes I'm now dealing with IBS which alternates from C to D but mostly it's C. Of course if you still have some inflammation from your CD then that's likely where the excess mucous is coming from...in general everyone has mucous which is normal, but you shouldn't really see it in healthy stools and properly functioning bowels. However, excess mucous is an indication that either IBD or IBS is active.

IBD is inflammatory bowel disease, IBS is irritable bowel syndrome...there is no inflammation involved with irritable bowel syndrome as there is with inflammatory bowel disease, but they can both have similar symptoms, like mucous and frequency and urgency and diarreah and/or constipation. There can also be bleeding involved with IBD, but generally not with IBS unless there is a hemorrhoid involved (generally from being constipated) bleeding with IBD comes from within the intestinal tract due to the inflammation.

oh okay well i don't have hemorroids (at least not anymore lol) and bleeding so it's IBS i guess i will ask my family and my GI what to take to make it not so irritable :D do you have suggestions for some medicine or something else? I already drank suppositorries but they don't help me...Today i had constipation again but i didn't see mucous in the stool,so i feel good :3 <3

You didn't really drink suppositories, did you?

Please don't take anything to address this issue unless it's a part of your Crohn's. Perhaps you could work on being less constipated. Drink more water. Get more exercise. Eat more fiber.
