Hello everybody, I'm a long time lurker on this board, thought I would sign up and briefly share my experience with Phoenix Tears/Rick Simpson Oil, which is a solvent-based cannabis extract that can be consumed orally, and which anyone can make themselves at home with a very simple setup. The oil I have been getting is made with pure grain alcohol and so far I have had no negative G.I. effects. The only thing I've noticed is I get a sudden, powerful urge to sleep after about
1-3 hours. The treatment protocol basically specifies that one must consume 60 grams of oil in 90 days, (I'm not if this is a requirement) and there have been numerous reports online of the oil helping put Crohn's into remission as well as successfully combating other serious illnesses.
Recently, I had been on Remicade with good luck since 2007, and decided to start the Specific Carbohydrate Diet in 2012. I saw such an improvement after starting the diet, I decided to go off Remicade earlier this year as I was also having serious dermatological side-effects from the immunosuppressant quality of the medicine.
Long story short, I became over-confident and careless with the diet and had a flare about
2 months ago, my doc wants me to start Humira, and I have the intro doses sitting in my fridge. When I flared, thought that the SCD had failed so I tried going back to eating everything, then going gluten/dairy-free, and finally have wound up at stage 1 SCD and know am finally seeing positive changes like no more smelly flatulence, decrease in cramping and frequency of movements.
Initially, my doc perscribed me Prednisone, and I reluctantly say that it helped me from getting dangerously ill, and I'm currently tapering down from 5mg. Before taking the Rick Simpson Oil, the gas/bloating/cramps would prevent me from wanting to eat or eating large portions. The oil allowed me to eat at regular intervals, and almost immediately improved my symptoms by 20-30% in addition to the effects of the Prednisone.
thanks for reading!
