Humira, Antibiotics and Crohn's - for me, the trifecta of fright.

So I slipped on the ice and fell on my knee and skinned it - I'm on Humira, prob on a "normal" person it would have been fine with a bath and epsom salts but for me it wasn't healing properly after 24 hours so I went to the ER and they admitted me for 36 hours to get IV antibiotics and keep an eye on the infection. I had 3 doses of liquid IV antibiotics and they sent me home with 2 strong antibiotics as well.
The first flare I ever had years ago was partially triggered by antibiotics so I avoid them whenever I can (obv this time I couldn't) - has anyone any suggestions aside from loading up on probiotics so I don't get sick?

I'm also super stressed and I know that's not helping but I'm terrified I'll have a Crohn's flare. I have to hold off on the Humira while I'm healing since it suppresses my immune system.

Any thoughts, complimentary or alternative therapies, or suggestions? They said just leave it be and don't even bother too much with neosporin, etc but I'm going to use that during the day under a bandage while I'm out at work.

24 hours seems hardly enough time to expect healing a skinned knee. Anyway, it is what it is and you've had the IV abx.. Probiotics is a good idea. Do you really need to take the additional oral abx?

Kazbern, it started out as a skinned knee, but since I have Crohn's and am on Humira it went downhill fast. I waited 24 hours and after cleaning it, soaking it and doing everything I know to treat it myself but it was getting worse: red, swollen, hot to the touch and painful. I took my temp and it ranged from 99.9 degrees to 101.5 degrees, so having Crohn's and being on Humira, I went to the walk in (since it was a holiday) and they took one look and sent me to the ER, and the ER doctors admitted me to the hospital. So while I agree just a skinned knee wouldn't be worth freaking out over, they kept me overnight for a day and a half and gave me 3 doses of IV antibiotics and pain medicine at the hospital, so yes, it was more serious. Everything is more serious when you have Crohn's and taking medicine that makes it difficult to fight off infection.

My question is about people who have Crohn's and are on Humira (an immune suppressing drug) and their experience with having a flare triggered from an infection and/or a serious course of antibiotics. I am back at home but have to keep it elevated and rest; they wanted me to take the next few days off work (not possible after tomorrow). The diagnosis when I was discharged was Cellulitis.

Thanks, I'm just keeping it elevated for now (and the past 4 days) and trying to rest as much as I can. So I googled Cellulitis with Humira, thinking that I could gauge when I could take my next dose, and it says Humira can CAUSE Cellulitis. Now I know I have a scraped knee that prob got infected from bacteria, but I'm wondering now if Humira has anything to do with it? I also recently developed psoriasis a couple months back, which is something else that can be brought on by Humira if you don't already have it and my dermatologist thinks from the skin biopsy it might be drug-induced psoriasis from the Humira, so I'm wondering if it has to do at all with the Humira? My GI dr has a "let's-wait-and-see" attitude, which is infuriating, but it's not the first time my drs have said that, and also maybe because they just don't know themselves. Unfortunately for me, "wait and see" means let's wait to see if you get sick.

UGH. I'm just going to do what I can for right now and take my antibiotics and rest and elevate my knee as much as possible and deal with things as they come, because that's all I can do, right? :(
