I just wanted to know how bad it is to drink miralax once a day everyday? I was diagnosed with Chrons disease 6 months ago, I do not suffer from cramps, diarrhea or upset stomach. My symtoms were relared to hard stools and bleeding when I have a bowel momevent. I was gaven some medicine but a fter few months I was not feeling any better. It started to get worse, then someome told to drink miralax and I had been drinking it for about 2 weeks. I havent felt this good in a very long time. I wamt to know if there would be any future problems that I should worry about and if there is anything else I should be eating in order to balance my body.

Hi John,
Miralax helps your colon add water to your stool so it is softer and easier to pass. It is safe and there is no problem with you using it daily if it is helpful. But it will do nothing at all to help your Crohn's disease. If your slow motility or constipation is due to inflammation or strictures, then you need medication to get that under control. What part of your intestines is your Crohn's located?

Several of us on here have taken Miralax 1-2 times daily over extended period of time due to severe constipation. It can certainly help keep you out of the hospital, but like gumby said, it's not going to fix anything.

Just get a bottled water and mixed it, did this for a while, worked well for me. Just mark the top with a smiley so you know what's in there.

I ask my doctor this question every time I visit. I've been taking a dose of Miralax daily since July 2011. It keeps things moving and my doctor continues to assure me that it is OK to take. Just make sure you drink plenty of water. I drink at least 48 oz of plain water each day in addition to other beverages.
