gall stones?

Hey everyone!

I haven't been on this site for ages because well.. i've been feeling so great!
Except for probably the last few weeks. I've been getting this burning/stabbing pain in my upper right abdomen. It comes on and off, but I've noticed it the worst at night time. I'll wake up in agony and won't be able to get into a comfortable position or go back to sleep.

Today was the worst its been because the pain stuck around and got progressively worse as the day went on. During supper I was sweating buckets and couldn't deal with how bad the pain was getting, soo being home for the holidays, my parents decided i needed to go to the walk in asap!

So i got to the walk in and after doing a few examinations and asking questions she came to the hypothesis that its gall stones as the pain is right where the gall bladder is. I'm going for an ultrasound this week and am going to try to limit fat in my diet.

Just curious if anyone else has had gall stones and what their experience was?

Your symptoms are consistent with gallstones. Watch for any yellowing of your skin or whites of your eyes because a stone obstruction can cause jaundice, which in turn can be an emergency situation. Also, if you get a stone obstruction your stool will become grayish-white and clay-like. I had this happen with an obstruction of the common bile duct. During the jaundice I had, I actually got a bit euphoric, couldn't sleep, and oddly I didn't have that much pain from it during that time. An attack I had a few months before this was extremely painful though. I had a laparascopic surgery which wasn't nearly as bad as colon surgery, but it's still surgery. I had 13 stones when I had surgery. I had none a few years prior when I had it checked during a hospital stay.
