Want to hear from crohn's patience that have tried Humara. Good or bad.

Big Like~! I'm taking Humira shots over 10 years now (I'm 29 years old). No side effects, and it really keeps my Crohn's in remission. I had a surgery a year ago (beacuse it took over 2 years until I was diagnosed and the inflammation was too sever so the only option for me was surgery.) I have very aggressive Crohn's, i'm still taking 2 shots every 2 weaks and it's the only treatment that stop my immune system from creating new inflammation.

I've been on humira about 1 1/2 years (one shot every other week) and it seems to be working pretty good. it took a good 6 months for it to really work for me, it's not very quick like remicade but defiantly the most stable drug I've been on, not to many ups or downs.

I've been on it for 4 months, its good, but my doctor wanted to pair it with 6mp

I have Crohns disease and been on Humira for me 6 weeks. The past 2 weeks I have had severe diarhea. I can't eat anything without it running through my system. I'm like a vitamixer. It's making my Crohn's diagnosis seem like a walk in the park. I eat nothing but a little rice, applesauce and bananas. Also Gatorade. I don't eat at work except chicken broth. Anyone know if this common and will it subside? I hope to talk with my Dr. next week. It's been impossible to reach him over the holiday. For the first time since I was diagnosed w/ Crohn' carry a change of clothes. I'm so afraid of having an accident.

I'm on Humira for over a year now ! I've been taking it since November 2013 the worst year of my life ...Humira saves my life!I've combined it with Imuran and i take 20 ml a shot every two weeks.My Chrohn's is agressive too like Shimrit29 .I've had 5 syrgeries in 2013 and since Humira i haven't had any problems.The only side effect i got is Herpes Zoster but it got away.On Humira you have to watch to not catch a cold or have a wound or to keep out of sunlight like not at all just don't stay enough to catch a tan :) and that's pretty much it.The shot is very painful i'm not gonna lie,some even prefer it through an IV .But it is indurable :)

My husband was on this for a year but we were both so terrified of the risk of developing cancer. (It's an anti-tumor necrosis factor (Anti-TNF) antibody.)

So I am glad that we stopped those injections. He also found them to be incredibly painful. Does anyone else find them to be super painful?

Their effectiveness was not worth the risk and pain, in our case. He's been off them for over 3 years. I've noticed that in the past year, TV ads will promote it for Crohn's more when in the past I only saw it being advertised for RI, so it must be pretty effective for a lot of people.

From 2012 Jan tik 2012 Jul I was on Humira, put me in remission immediately, but had to cancel due to unbereable side effects - severe sunlight allergy and edemas, in total I got 13 dosages, some allergy has remained, and it makes much trouble to me, but it is nothing compared to the condition I was 2 years ago. I tend to be a little allergic to various things all my life, so tendency to allergies might be risky factor.
And one more very important thing - Aza and Humira are NOT compatible, it is recommended to cancel Aza several months before Humira as such combination could cause leukemia or Lupus (real or pseudo), but I found out this too late - I was on Aza and Humira at the same time a few months, and this could contribute to the strong side effects which I experienced. I also got pseudo Lupus, and was so scared until my Reumo confirmed it is pseuudo, not real, and that it should go away with time after cancelling Humira.

I tried Humira. Built up antibodies very quickly. I noticed it stopped working and GI was very surprised.
I had tried Remicade before this, same thing.
6MP couldn't tolerate. Elevated Liver enzymes
Now: I've been on methotrexate 25 mg since Aug 2014
And will add Cimza probably next week .
Hope it works-tired of Prednisone
Diagnosed 2/2013 with Crohn's at age 60!!
Nothing has worked for very long.

Trishke, how is the methotrexate working for you? Do you get the injections?
