I feel like I am experiencing something kind of weird... I know I am flaring right now... But I am not having all the pain I would usually get in the past? Has anyone experienced this?

The reason I know I am flaring is for a few reasons... I have had diarrhea on and off over the last few months... My stomach is always contracting and making lots of loud gurgling noise.. Sudden rushing sounds in my tummy ( assuming narrowing/strictures). Also have this ache (sometimes a little painful) feeling that floats between my right ribs and hip... (Been there for nine months) Recently went for an MRI and it showed a lot inflammation and some bowel to bowel fistulas in that area..

BUT even though all these things are going on I am not keeled over in pain???? So unusual for me..

Anyone else experience this before during a flare?

I hardly ever have any pain even when in a super bad flare. I'd just consider myself lucky to not be having the pain

Yes, I do... And by NO means am I trying to 'show off' this is just very new to me... I have a hard time convincing myself I am actually flaring.

Whenever I was flaring I would certainly have pain. I guess everyone is different! My problem when flaring was always that there was an obstruction, which would lead to pain. Maybe you're just having a little narrowing but not enough to cause pain?

My pain varied by the flare. This crazy disease seems to change each time i flare.

I don't always have pain when I flare..My pain was bad 2004-2006 when CD was at its worst..Lately, my stomach is always contracting and making lots of loud gurgling noise.. Sudden rushing sounds in my tummy ( assuming narrowing/strictures). I am having alternating diarrhea and constipation..I sometimes feel pain in the lower left quadrant and under my right rib but not all the time...I am not always cramping with the big D either..Yesterday, I was in the bathroom about every hour but not in pain..I just felt very fatigued..I had the conversation with my hubby this morning that my long term predisone therapy I felt was no longer effective and I was going to have to go through more testing and a change in therapy.

My latest flare started last summer and while I knew my inflammation was getting worse I did not know how bad because I did not have pain like before. My GI doctor said that pain was not a good determining factor. In my case it is because before the inflammation included the inside of my intestines but right now it is mostly the outside. So eating most foods is not causing the same pain I had before.
