Good evening to everyone,
I'm a Newbie to the forum and I have some questions for more seasoned and or knowledgeable members. I have extra boxes of Humira left over and don't know what to do with it? I would like to see it used for the greater good.
Any help would be appreciated.

Great question! I have a box of humira pens as well and wasn't sure what to do with them. Hopefully we get an answer.

In Alberta Canada, once you've taken home an RX I don't think they allow people to return them for use to other patients for the risk of them being tampered with (a lot of sickos in the world is why) so chances are you can return them to a pharmacy but they'll more than likely restore them...I don't know what it's like anywhere else like in the US and other countries but that's how it is in my province at least. You could call your pharmacy to check what their protocol is. We're not even suppose to flush old or any meds for any reason down the toilet because it contaminates our drinking water and they don't have any way to filter RX that get into the water system (I know the pens can't be flushed lol, was just making note of how different rules are depending on where one lives)...was watching Dr. Oz last week and he had instructed people to do that with their expired/un-used meds and I was flabbergasted when he kept repeating to do so.

In UK you just take any unused or old meds back to the chemist and they dispose of them. Once chemist has dispensed them they cannot be reissued to anyone else and we're told not to flush anything down the toilet or put them in the rubbish.

Thank you for all of the useful information forum members. I am in the United States specifically Ohio. I am a Liberal and would hate to see all of this Humira go to waste when it's still less than 6 weeks old. Not wanting to get into political debate. I just know not everyone can get what they need. It's a sad day in that respect depending on everyone's view point.
Cheers.

In the US it is illegal to give or sell a prescript
ion medication to another individual. Your state likely has a program for disposal of medications.

Try contacting the manufacture or My Humira. I"m sure if they will take them back and dispose of them for you.

@carbonatom I'm not sure what being liberal has to do with anything. I'm conservative, and I hate to see medication get put to waste as well.
