I have been taking Predninsone for over a month and become very irritable, constantly hungry, (and my diet it is still limited) and if I take it too late in the morning, it caused sleeping issues. I now have to go back on Vicodin and anxiety medication to deal with these side effects, so I do not lose it on people!
I started the weaning off of it, as directed, and at ten mg it was no longer helping at all, anymore. Most of the stomach pain gas and indigestion, came back. So, I am back on it at 15 mg for a week, then 10 for a week, then 5mg for a week. I am starting my new Crohns medication, the generic is Azathioprine.
I have to be tested, for what they downplay, as calling blood cancer, on a regular basis, which is a are side effect to the medication. I have been on this for on,e for over a week, and I just had my first blood test. This medication seems to be giving me aches and pains like the flu, and more headache, and to feel really worn out, like run over by a truck.
I do not want to stay on the prednisone for a long time, though it helps my stomach and some other lower back pain. My doctor will not give me a clear indication as to how long the Crohns medication will take to work. I read it can take up to three months to notice a difference. Is this true?
Has anyone had any of these experiences, and can you suggest anything?
Does anyone else get indigestion pain in their jaws, shoulder blades, and back?
Sorry for alll the questions!
