I've been thinking of what to say, considering how you believe I really want to read your blog and how nice you have been about my skepticism. And I did read both. In your hydration advice, it would have been helpful to mention electrolytes, by the way.
Here's the "deal". I welcome you here at this forum, as a fellow Crohn's poster. Though I may not agree with your philosophies, that doesn't really matter. As the saying goes, we're entitled to our own opinions, but we're not entitled to our own facts, though that's never really stopped anyone.
But, you are a published author and a speaker with your own website designed to advertise yourself and your books. Nothing wrong with that. If someone wants to pay for your work, more power to 'em.
But - this forum isn't supposed to be used for purposes wherein the poster has a potential for monetary gain. You were given permission to mention your blog here, because you stated you weren't trying to sell anything, but you do have a financial potential by mentioning your free blog here with the title that's the same as your book which is specifically about what sounds like a "cure" for Crohn's. We are a target audience for your books. Though I wouldn't buy your books, someone new to the disease and/or desperate for anything that could help might pay for it. I don't consider you more of an expert than anyone else on here with the disease, but your blog and books give the impression you are.
If your being here is not about a potential sale, why not come here and post anonymously/without a connection (either literal or implied) to your website?
You stated:
"When I began to believe and say, “I am healthy” rather than what I was saying, “I don’t want to be sick anymore,” that’s when I truly began to transform and started to gel the pieces of my healing puzzle together."
"By using these “I am” affirmation statements, you are setting a foundation towards achieving your goals."
Personally, I find your wishful thinking somewhat belittling, as if you were saying we are sick because we aren't wishing it, or "positive affirmationing" hard enough. What about little children with this disease, or any disease for that matter? They don't have the capacity for that type of abstract ideation. Do their parents do it by proxy? Would you say that to a dying cancer patient?
As you have seen by the posters above, Crohnies will call you out on your statements, whether they're based on facts.
Anyway, I won't bother you any more about this. -Joy
