I am not in it but very curious about
it. How are you doing with it? Did you achieve remission? How bad was your crohns before the trial?

I think I have a rectal vaginal fistula after much research online. Needless to say I'm scared to death. I'm 64 years old. I had a radical hysterectomy in 1984 for cervical cancer. My symptoms are: the feeling of gas coming through my vagina, a bubbly feeling, a smelly discharge very light yellowish brown and watery! It, the smell, reminds me of a baby with a slight case if diarrhea! I have not had any type of nasty discharge since my encounter with cervical cancer. I'm in a panic! I don't know what to expect! I'm moving into a senior apartment next month, live alone, and I'm just flat out terrified!
Please, anyone with information, please talk to me!! I need to know what I'm in for!!
Thanks so much!!

Your doc will probably set you up for an MRI diagnostic imaging to check and see if it's indeed an RV fistula (which is sounds very likely to be) hopefully he can order this test for you immediately. It could be a result of having CD since those types of fistulas are very common with IBD, the only other cause for a rectovaginal fistula is trauma caused usually from giving birth, taking your age into account that likely won't be the cause of your RV fistula...just so you know, and I'm not trying to scare you but IBD can affect anyone at any age. I became sick with crohn's in my early 20's before my mom got sick with ulcerative colitis (another form of IBD) in her mid 60's (she was 39 when she had me so there's the big age difference in case you were wondering).
Try not to stress too much, I know easier said than done, but hopefully your doc can put you on the correct path to find out what exactly is going on with your health.
