I was diagnosed with chrohns about 8 months ago. went on a very basic diet To baseline trigger foods. If it comes from a package don't eat it, the preservatives aren't helping. I went to eggs and whey powder (non flavored no additives or flavoring) for protein, no dairy, nothing made from flour or wheat. So lots of veggies, fruit, rice, quinoa, oatmeal. After 3 weeks I started adding fish sparingly, some chicken later on. It made a difference and I'm sticking to it. If I do eat flour based food I immediately tell the difference, bloating, gas etc.
There's specific diet based treatments discussed here, many more strict that what I'm doing. The basics are, eat easily digestible food and give your intestines time to rest. if you want to get more extreme, read up on juicer diets. Many swear by them to get the food digested as quickly and easily as possible and put the least amount of stress on your digestion.
