2nd time Remicaid users?

If your going to try Remicade for a second time, you might want to be tested for anti-bodies first. That's the only way to know for sure if it's worth doing.

What biologic are you on for RA?

Remicade sounds like a good bet for you, although I think Humira works a little better fOr RA. What a ***** having to deal with both.
I did remicade a second time 3yrs after stopping. Worked great for 10 years.
Mesalamine doesn't usually work for Crohn's.
Your fears are well founded. Sucks you have to give up a drug that is working for you.
Is it possible they'd let you take ENTYVIO along side the orencia?

Yet you just had a colonoscopy that shows you have active disease and need a stronger med. This means that the mesalamines have NOT worked, not at all, at keeping the Crohn's at bay. You might have felt ok on them the last five years, but they were not doing their job, or you wouldn't be in the position you are in now.

I've often heard that Humira works better for CD and Remicade works better for UC, don't know what truth there actually is to that since my GI said they're both designed to work the very same way and asked me which one I wanted to choose from, I chose Humira for convenience sake and I've also heard that with Humira you don't have to take other meds to reduce the risk of developing antibodies because Humira is made with a human protein and Remicade is made with a mouse protein which is the reason why other meds are usually required when on Remicade compared to Humira...as I said, this is what I've heard, don't know how accurate it actually is. I've also heard that once you go on either, trying to go back won't usually work but instead to try a different biologic instead.

I've been on Humira since February 2014 now and no other meds due to being either allergic or non-responsive to them and so far it's put my CD (and RV fistula) in remission. I have no idea how long it will last but I flared from moderate to mostly severe for over 2 decades before developing this RV fistula and Humira works for me and considering how long I flared for and how severely (I even ended up developing IBS as a result of my long standing flare from my CD) so that's how bad things got for me but yet Humira put me into clinical remission (scoped and MRI to confirm) for the first time since getting sick in 1991.

I agree with beave, I don't know how you managed symptoms wise but if your last scope shows you still have some inflammation then your current meds are clearly not cutting it for you. If I were you I would just try the Humira cuz the chances are high that you'll be wasting your time trying Remicade, just my opinion of course, I could be wrong and Remicade might be just fine for you to go on again.
