Checklist before starting Humira?

How many of you had a checklist of things that needed to be checked or done before starting Humira? I can understand do long blood work and checking heart etc,, but getting the flu and other vaccines?.. Anyone else experience this?

Other than general blood tests the big one is to check for underlying TB. You then need to avoid live vaccines and infectious diseases (I've just had my 3rd bout of chicken pox ... Have found it very difficult to get over this time on Humira ... Tracked down that it was caught from a friend who came to stay who had lunched the week prior with a friend of theirs who had (unknowingly at that point) shingles). Easy to catch hard to get over.

I've not been recommended anything specific ... Albeit I am annually offered a flu vaccine due to azathioprine alone. Personally I wouldn't touch the flu vaccine ... Though I know many do opt to take it.

I don't want to receive the flu shot, pneumonia, HPV, shingles shots etc.... I absolutely understand all the blood testing, x-Rays, skin test, etc. but I don't understand how they can make the shots mandatory before they treat me. I am not against vaccines, I am just very sensitive to drugs. I'm in a bad flare and the last thing I need are live vaccinations. Just seems like you could sign a waiver for this (Something like I have been informed about risks and understand why my dr recommends these, but I still choose to receive Humira)But I guess their practice, their rules. I am going to have to seek another opinion. Hopefully I will find a Dr who will be willing to work with me. Just didn't know if this was common practice.

I had to have the TB test and there was a recommendation of a chest x-ray because I also have asthma but there was no requirement to have any of the shots/vaccines that you have mentioned.
