Hi everyone. I am getting a seton for my fistula and was wondering about your stories. How was the pain, the healing, did you have a full recovery etc? The doctor doesn't believe I have crohns. I've had my fistula for five months now. The doctor drained my abcess and did something to my fistula (not sure what it's called) but it was basically a huge hole in my bum that he said should try to heal inside out. Only 20% heal and I wasn't one of them. So what remains of my hole (this was 9 weeks ago) still oozes and it's painful some days. So I want to hear about your guys stories and about getting a seton in and how the surgery went etc.

Sorry to hear that you are going through this. These are really a pain in the A. I go in for mine on Wednesday and I can let you know my experience once I am done. Are you scared? Because man oh man.. am I scared. I think the unknown can eat someone alive. Do you have a date scheduled for when yours is going in?

I am absolutely terrified !! I've googled so much and found some good stories some bad ones. I don't have a date yet, they said they would call me when there's an opening !

I sure will. I am so terrified too. I just went for my pre-op lab work. The stress of the financials is getting to me too. They are stating I am going to have to pay $1600 and being off work for a while is going to be hard financially for us (we just bought a home).

I pray both of ours goes picture perfect, but I will report back. We have to stick together, or we will feel alone ! :)

If you search "seton" in the search bar above, you will find many stories! I had one for several years; it was not a huge deal at all.
