My daughter does not have Crohn's but she gets allergic reactions that her allergist suspects are auto-immune in nature. She gets angioedema, which means that her lips, eyelids and tongue swells up and sometimes she also breaks out in hives. Once she barely got to the ER in time and needed an epinephrine shot. When it begins to happen now, she takes benedryl and zantac, and if it doesn't respond to that, she had to add 60 mg of Prednisone. She also has to carry an epic-pen. The worry about a swollen tongue is that if it swells badly it could cut off your airway and be life threatening.
I don't know if it is related to Crohn's or not but you should have a doc evaluate this as soon as possible. I know Crohn's isn't technically an auto-immune disease, but when you have Crohn's you are at higher risk for other auto-immune problems.
