Questions for the wise about pillcam

I am wincing having to ask these questions, I’m very sorry! You’ve been warned!
I‘m getting a capsule endoscopy done this Monday the 29th. I have to take Miralax two hours and 45 minutes before I have to show up to swallow the thing.
I’ve been reading old posts about the pillcams, but I have some really odd questions.

-My appointment is at 7:45 AM. If I take Miralax, does that basically mean I’ll have to wake up for good at 5 AM (half-hour before I usually do) because I’ll be having diarrhea?
-I’m going to work after swallowing it. Do you think that’s not wise? I worry about maybe needing to run to the bathroom often. What if I don’t make it?
-What if the pill goes right through me and I poop it out too early? That Miralex ain’t going to help me quell that fear.
-What if I can’t find it in my poop? We’re going to get technical here. Forgive me. I feel silly… when I go #2 I tend to use a lot of toilet paper. Every time, am I going to have to somehow fish through the wet TP to look for the camera to make sure it’s left my body? For those who’ve had it done, how on earth did you ever find it?
-Another gross question. I believe in the “courtesy flush” and will flush a few times during my sessions. I get I won’t be able to do that while I hunt for the pill thing. But, umm, what if my toilet gets clogged? Did you have to toss your soiled TP in a separate bag or something? I hope I get it out of me sooner rather than later so I don’t have to keep doing that.

Thank you for any responses I get. If I shouldn’t go to work I need to know ASAP so I can ask for it off!

(Just some background: already had a colonoscopy and endoscopy done. The reason for this procedure is to figure out why I’m anemic. Others tests just showed I have a hiatal hernia)

(The belt us not a hindrance -- just thought you should know. It's how they capture the images). I did not have D that lasted, especially since you're required to fast.

You can assume it came out in your poop unless you have bad symptoms or they find stricutures. I've had two pill cam tests and never saw the camera in my poop.....I just assumed it was fine. Try not to worry about it.

I've done the pillcam twice (both in 2006; the reason for doing it twice is that the first one stayed in my stomach too long).

*The miralax shouldn't affect you that strongly or that quickly.

*Yes, you can go to work no problem, unless you work in a lab or dangerous environment where you need special clothing

*The pillcam probably won't go through too fast

*You probably won't even notice it come out. But if it gets stuck, you WILL notice that. It will lead to lots of pain and sickness.

*I never saw mine in my stool, in either time I did it.

*It's small enough to get flushed with no problem.

The first time I did the pill cam I felt like the uni-bomber because they had so many wires and leads on my chest, but several years later, they improved the testing supplies and it is more like a belt and the old time "beeper" looking devices. You could easily go to work, but if you are feeling self conscious about it and can take the time off, then stay home and relax. I don't remember needing to take Miralax. I think I just was on a liquid diet the day before, but it's been a few years and I can't remember for sure.
