Uncontrollable proctitis again

Mentioned earlier that Remicade effect has worn off after 4 weeks from the last infusion. That was the 3rd loading dose. Symptoms and especially proctitis ones returned back vigorously. I saw my GI and he decided to let me take the dose 5 days in advance which means week 7 and 2 days. This means I have to go for other 3 weeks w uncontrollable proctitis.
I take now for the proctitis steroid suppositories and sometimes pentasa suppositories but in vain. It seems the inflammation becomes severer when the effect of Remicade wears off. I have a perianal fistula and any type of enemas is prohibited. Any suggestions will be much appreciated.

I feel your pain...

You may try Prax which contains Pramoxine a numbing agent. I also use Calmoseptine which is avalable on Amazon.

By the way there are many other products with creative brand names which they manufacturers find it funny (I don't find it funny, but if you don't have this problem it may be funny).

Names like:

Monkey Butt
ItchyButt
Boudreaux Butt Paste Whoop Rash - Comes in a big yellow paint can.
Fire in the hole -which is actually a spray, which I find it very inconvenient to aim to that area, you may hit something else !

Some of these products, like the bright yellow Butt Paste is sold in the supermarket in the diaper section. I was going to buy it but was self conscious to having it in my shopping cart so didn't buy it.

That's awful you're feeling so bad :( good your dr will give you the Remi a little early. Do the steroid suppositories help? I want to try them but my colorectal surgeon said I can't use anything like that because of my fistula. I think I need a second opinion though.
I use a microwaveable heating pad on that area and it does take the edge off a little. I feel your pain too. I've been pretty much unable to sit on my butt for the past year and I'm steroid dependent because I have reacted badly to the rest of the meds they gave me.

@ Fernando. Really appreciate your post; however, neither of these creams is found in my country. I'll make sure when I travel to UK in the summer to get them.
@ Rose*flo. I have a fistula, too. My GI told me not to use any enemas but suppositories are acceptable. Check w your GI.
