Crohns VS UC

Hello,

I usually post in the ulcerative colitis forum as I was told I have UC. I have been in a flare since the beginning of March and am currently on a prednisone taper. I had a colonoscopy last week which actually looked fine (despite a polyp) and either that means the prednisone is doing its thing or it was suggested to me Crohns could be a possibility (I believe my terminal ileum looked fine though, although I am awaiting the biospy results).

Anyways, the doctor ordered a MRI enterography just to check out the small bowel. The doctor did say the chance of Crohns was very low, and I haven't worried much about it until today. Yesterday I had a bad "UC day" with multiple bathroom trips which concerns me since I am tapering prednisone (can't identify any cause). Today I had the MRI and had to drink contrast, so another bad day as it gave me diarrhea.

Now it is midnight, and my mind is starting to go wild. I'm scared, and just want the results now. Would the MRI enterography show if I have Crohns, or would I have to get the capsule study? I'm worried since my colon actually looked OK (would the prednisone work that quick in 3 weeks to clear up a flare?)or that I actually do have Crohns...? Just lots of thoughts running through my head and thought since it Crohns related it would be better to ask here.

Would Apriso still help Crohns, or do most people take something else?

Thanks Myrne. Total I will be on prednisone for about 8 weeks once I am done with the taper. And I guess you are right, it's just a name change if they do change the diagnosis. No more D anyone, and pain is gone too. Before the predisone- D, pain, urgency. Last time my labs showed an elevated WBC count but I was told that could be the prednisone.
