Well...I didn't make it to the bathroom in time.

Thank goodness for small miracles...I was home, baby was napping and husband was at work.

This has NEVER happened to me before.

Lately I've been wondering if I'm flaring because I've had some super subtle signs, but I think this basically confirms it. Trying to figure out what I ate that may have triggered that kind of reaction...

Sigh.

Feeling for those of you who have experienced this...especially in public.

I did once on the way home from the hospital...when I had c. diff. Thankfully, it didn't go through my pants onto the seats of the car. But I had to sit in it in Houston traffic for an hour.

Aw Foster, I feel for you. Unfortunately, this has happened to me way too often as I have had surgery for a rectal stricture and have had to have rectal dilation done. Hopefully, it's only a one time thing. But my bet advice is when you leave the house be prepared. I carry a small wristlet with wipes, a change of undies and a plastic bag to place the soiled undies in.
If it continues you might want to mention it to your doctor.

For a while my motto was " sometimes the best you can do is not crap your pants in public", humor gets me through....

Hey Foster...it doesn't help much, but I have been there too...had an ooopsy poopsy about a month ago and it was my first in a very long time. I'll listen when you talk about it too!

Be gentle on your gut until you know more...be gentle on yourself as this is not something worth being ruffled too much by....like lamb said, being prepared is the best thing.

Thanks you guys. I guess it just happens, sometimes. I'm sorry for what you've experienced...but thanks for sharing, sometimes it's reassuring to know that others have "been there, done that" too.

Man last night i thought i was going to join the "poopy pants" group. I was 7 miles from home it was late and most everything was closed. I had to really squeeze my butt cheeks hard. I finally made it home and ran to the bathroom. It was major watery poo. When i was done i discovered there was no toilet paper. And of course hubby and kids were asleep. There was no one to help out with getting another roll. There i sat wondering what to do. So i just took a shower. So in the end all was good. But it sure was a close one.😠

I have pooped my pants so much I have lost count! Use to be daily, now it's a few weeks for 11years! I'm on Zantac 75 along with asacol hd and my symptoms are better all the way around.

I've had several night accidents. Don't know what hit until it was too late. As for day accidents, I up to now have been okay, but so many close calls.

It is frustrating. I've had it happen more times then I care to remember. Thankfully it's usually been when I'm home alone or everyone was asleep. One time I was wearing a big night shirt, and dripped all the way to the bathroom. What a mess. The bed messes are the worse too, so much work to clean up when you're already feeling so lousy.

Have had this problem for years, it has been officially diagnosed as inflammation of the rectum. You gradually lose control of your rectum contractions and sphincter. When the urge comes strong you need to avoid diarreah not getting into the rectum. My only defense is to SIT DOWN and tighten up. See this thread

Even with all this knowledge I still have partial accidents with some leaks every other day. I try to do preemptive strikes to clear the colon, particularly before I go out and right after I eat, whether I feel the urge or not.

Recently I started applying a cottonball butt plug as suggested by my colorectal surgeon. It works during the night but in the day it falls out when I walk.

Its a terrible situation, taking Cholestyramine has somewhat reduced the diarreah.
Two imodiums in a bad day slows things down quite a bit.
