My daughter is 16, on 6MP and nexium right now. She has already had 3 colonoscopies as well as upper scopes and pill cam.
She is dx with Crohns at 12 yo.
Her blood numbers have shown over the last 4 years that she is chronically anemic despite our iron pills and lots of leafy greens.
she doesn't feel too bad with her crohn's, usually just fatigued and constipated.
Her fecal calprotectin came back at 386. Norm is 0-50.
Is this high for a Crohn's sufferer? Her doc wants to start humira and continue 6mp. Seems like a lot of meds to me. my daughter doesn't have constant diarrhea or bloody stools, or fevers, or infection. Doc says her condition is "smoldering".
Colonoscopies look like her colon, stomach, anal canal has tiny little bumps all over, no ulcerations.
I just don't want to jump into a serious med if it isn't truly necessary.
Advice very welcome
