ok so I had my 8thscope since xmas eve today. all went well during except at the end I apparently coughed up some bile and hiccupped at the same time.. causing my heart to go into A-fib with rvr's.. which apparently dangerous. so while still under they took me to surgery recovery, on the same floor as they had better monitoring stuff. they kept me there for a couple of hours and tried a couple of IV drugs to control the fibrilations but they did not work.. so they admitted me for observation and tried my old blood pressure medicine ( a beta blocker) and within about
an hour it took my heart rate back down into the 80's while on a wireless monitor, they kept watch and decided I could go home if I restarted my old med at twice the amount, started taking the aspirin everyday until they figure out if it was a spontaneous event or more regular that I just did not notice..prior to each scope I have an EKG in the pre procedure workup and this has never happened before. so for now I am fine at home resting. getting my holter monitor on Monday.. gee after waiting since early may, they think its urgent now.. hmmmm.
I truly chocked it up to a very stressful week. did more activity than I should have on sunday, lost my dog of 10years to doggy heaven on Monday, over did it Tuesday and then Wednesday doing my prep for the scope, not eating since wed breakfast and crapping my arse off all night... naw that wasn't it...
my poor wife was there of course the whole day, so we had a 4 am wakeup to be in seattle by 8, took me 1 hour late to begin with and left seattle at 6pm getting home around 8pm . maybe not a long day to some, but it wiped us out and I'm still up at 1230am writing this. so going on 21 hours.. good night say noguts!
oh wait the most important thing about
the scope no cancer seen, but 2 more stricture farther up and new adhesion caused ( they think) 'z' shaped section near my anstamosis. so more studies to come, CT-E, MRI-E, upper gi, were all mentioned.
aint life grand!
