They do have a pill cam that can see into the small intestine area. The thing about allergy testing is that it's limited to the most common allergy-inducing foods. If you're allergic to something not tested, you would have to do an elimination trial of the foods you eat.
This is just another thought from my own experience - did they check your gallbladder? I had similar symptoms when my gallbladder got full of stones. I have an aunt who went for many years with gallstone attacks - I think she was afraid of surgery to go on suffering that long, knowing what it was. I would think they would have already checked that, though.
I find that this has very little to do with the type of food i eat. For example, I was not eating from 3:00pm the day before my colonscopy. Only drinking. The next morning I still woke up totally bloated and with pain. Even after I finished the prep and was completely empty, I was still bloated even though I hadn't eaten in almost a full day.
I got a ct scan and the gallbadder was fine. I also had a bunch of blood tests and they were all fine besides for low b12. I will meet with my doctor next week and see if there are any other tests.
