I know the description your GI gave you sure sounds like Crohn's, what with the cobblestone appearance and terminal ileum involvement.
Although my own diagnosis of Crohn's came from biopsies - mainly in that my GI couldn't see with the scope what they revealed via microscope - your case is different. From her description of the cobblestone appearance at the TI and upward, your GI has seen for herself disease damage that fits the diagnosis of Crohn's. One would think the biopsies would have shown something, but it's possible there could have been an error or mix-up of some kind with them. It happens. In your case, I would think your GI is going to go more by the strong evidence she observed than by what the biopsy report states. Have you talked to her since the results came back?
Thank you for your reply!
I was thinking there must be some sort of mix up or something as it does not add up. The person who done my colonoscopy was not the same person as my Gastro doctor. So I have not talked to the woman who done my colonoscopy and I will not hear from here either... which is unfortunate because she was very sure it was was crohn's. I guess I am just scared that after all the tests and getting a diagnosis eventually, the consultant may tell me that I am back to square one again :/.
