Advice needed on bloating ... currently on Entyvio

Hello Forum Members:

I am 3.5 months into my Entyvio treatment for Crohn's, but haven't seen any symptom relief (diarrhea, bloating) - my GI has asked me to stay on this for some more time. Have you seen relief for Crohn's from Entyvio kick in 3-4 months after start?

In the last 2-3 weeks, my bloating seems to have become worse - affecting my appetite, sleep and general well-being and mood. Its starts about the time I begin eating and persists for hours. I sit with a heating pad and sometimes it helps a bit.

Can you please chime in with your input:

- Is this from Entyvio?
- Bacterial overgrowth?
- Probiotics help - I am taking VSL#3 nightly
- Is this due to peristalsis and scar tissue/adhesion generated?
- Hormonal imbalance

- Importantly, what things (not just meds) I can try for relief? My doc suggests PPIs, GasX etc ... not much help from those, since this is not just stomach gas, I think.

47 year old, female, 2 resections ('93 and '07)
currently on Entyvio, was on Remicade '07-May this year

Entyvio,as you know may take some time, I myself have been on it about 9-10 months, helps a bit but I still get a run of the symptoms, work stress does not help. I've had one resection just so you can temper what I'm telling you. The ileum is quite painful at times. Like today. I have to keep away from white breads, pizza dough ect.

Watch what you are eating. avoid any thing that you suspect for awhile. Keep your chin up and do the best you can.

I have to admire others that post here as I can see they have experienced far worse than myself. They are the warriors. I'm just to hard headed to give in.

Ditto the food journal. It could be something you are eating. I used to think pretzels were a good idea until I realized they were causing bloating and cramping.
