Fistula

Tried leaving off all my meds to see if it's the cause of the soreness and pain, it would seem after five days that they are not the culprit, still getting the pain so have started to take them again although I never feel any better for it.

Tried also giving up caffeine and alcohol, not that I drink much these days as I can't afford it. I even tried changing soaps and soap powders for laundry and no change. I have had to conclude that the pain has to be from the scar tissue which has still got to heal I guess.

Still waiting on hospital!!!

Just wanted to ask about post fistulotomy scar, it seemed to have settled down but now six months on the fistula scar is very red sore and inflamed, anyone any ideas on what can cause this. I have been using Johnson's extra sensitive wipes after a BM for as long as I can remember, could it be the wipes or could it be just the way scars form and the pain is part of the healing.

Thought about restarting Naproxen but had a few issues with it, in two weeks I have an appointment with my surgeon and will try to get a MRI to see what is happening inside.

Just very depressed about having fistulotomy and still being unable to sit comfortably without bad pain.

My GP says its not another abscess or Fistula bit he advised talk through with surgeon.

Has anyone out there had a fistulotomy and still find it hard to sit six months after.

No not on any bilogics. I have had some input from a freind who suggested that it may be a reaction to anti biotic, last Tuesday I finished a double course of flagyl and amoxicillin.
My freind said it sometimes sparks off a fungal infection. If it has its very localised to the one spot that is over my scar.
I was just thinking that maybe someone had experienced recovering from a fistulotomy and had these problems.

Great to hear from you, I know you have been suffering a lot longer than me but I feel for me it's been a long two years.
You could be right about the amputee syndrome, it is really a weird time for me. One minute feel good the next feeling bad pain, I feel like my doctors think am imagining the pain, they say "but you should not be getting any pain " I realise from their end it must be frustrating, they do the op and all looks well, so why the pain.
I have tried to keep faith with my beliefs but struggling to understand God's plan for me as an individual, what am I doing or have done that is so bad that I can't earn a few weeks of freedom from pain.
Have you had any experience with scar pain, could anti biotic cause this reaction, I will let you know what happens on my next appointment with my surgeon.
