Is there a real treatment for active proctitis?

I have to admit it I failed everything. I can't even retain colifoam for more than an hour. If I do, I would have pain because of the tip of the enema despite lubricating it and applying lidocaine.

I can't take any type of liquid enemas; they would come out immediately because of my perianal fistula. Mesalamine suppositories don't do me any good. Remicade doesn't seem to control the activity of the proctitis.

Did anyone have success with any other treatment? I'm having fatigue all the time and can't concentrate. This proctitis issue is really affecting my life

JaSanne, thank you. I saw him and he spent a very long time with me to discuss all the possible alternative treatments. The decision he took was very rational. I thought he would opt for something aggressive. On the contrary, he suggested something very simple: adding imodium since I have tenesmus and diarrhea. His rationale is that he wants to reduce the contractions by giving me time for things to heal. Then, I can resume taking both colifoam and pentasa suppositories. I will also apply Anusol HC to the maximum dose (4 times) to allow the inflammation to ease. When I told him I have narrowing, he was not for any kind of dilation and warned against doing this myself. He added he doesn't want to prescribe either an antibiotic or pred. Taking entocort and colifoam is enough for me as far as steroids are concerned.
