Just popping over from the UC side....very likely I have CD. Whoo hoo.

There's a study for FMT and UC that I have some interest in....but was wondering if anyone here has used it for CD??

From what I have read, fecal transplant for Crohn's hasn't been shown to be effective

For me, FMT was only helpful with my Crohn's in the sense that it finally got rid of my c. diff. and my Crohn's stopped being irritated from it.

I realise that this thread is old but I just wanted to tell you that I have mild Crohn's colitis and my specialist has told me that he will give me a FMT if 5-ASAs don't work. He said that because mine is limited to the colon it's an option for me and that he has had success with with.

He works with Prof Borody in Australia at the Centre for Digestive Disease, where they do FMT and Anti-MAP therapy for IBD.

It might only be successful in mild cases or it might not be at all, but I'm willing to give it a try before I go on things like immunosuppressants!

Wow! I really appreciate that Sarebear89. I'm in Canada and tried very hard to get it but was unsuccessful, partially because I now have fistulas and ended up on Humira.

There is a current study for Borody's protocol in Toronto (RHB-104).

Please keep everyone apprised as to how you do.

If I had the money, I'd show up on his front door pleading for him to take my case on!

interesting thread! U B where did you test for MAP? I'm going to make a thread now on GcMAF yogurt which is supposed to emulate a FMT. Just started 4 days ago and so far so good.

Panda- I've never heard of that yogurt. Suddenly, I can't handle any dairy, including yogurt.

Are you in Canada? I sent the blood work to John Aitken; a colleague of Thomas Borody. Crohnsinfection.org.

My GI was able to draw the blood work "under the table" so to speak from his nurses without a requisition. I sent it off to New Zealand overnight. I believe it took about 12 weeks for MAP to grow. A good portion of my cells were/are infected.
