Crohns/ strep pnuemonia - help!

I'm writing on behalf of my dad who is currently sedated in suffering from a pnuemonia.

Last Saturday, he was given his first dose of Remicade. Thursday morning he woke up with a foul smelling cough. We took him to the emergency room Thursdau evening and they diagnosed him with pnuemonia and a lung abscess in his right lung.

Now they are saying his lactic acid is going up. The pnuemonia today is still the same, his heart is good, but the oxygen level in his blood is fairly low. Could it be that the Remicade isn't allowing the antibiotics to do its job?
We just want him well and doctors are saying odds are against him.

Thank you for your reply! That's good to hear, he's been under sedation since Friday evening. The pnuemonia got worse yesterday, today niether worse nor better. Praying for the best!

We appreciate your well wishes. He's been through a lot with crohns, now praying he has the strength for pnuemonia.

Hi Jraider, I am so sorry your family is going through this.I hope your father is able to pull through. How old is he?(also when you say sedated, i assume he's also on a ventilator? Do you know how his CO2 levels are?) I don't have experience with remicade and pneumonia together but have experience with them in separate instances. My mother had severe pneumonia after open heart surgery. The doctor did not expect her to make it. She did make it though. I recently ran into the doctor when i was at the hospital for Remicade he was in complete disbelief and astonishment that she made it through. Do not give up hope, my mother was on a ventilator for a while and then had a tracheotomy for quite some time but was able to have it reversed and never regretted it despite it having been a major ordeal. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

I would read Dr. Christopher remedies for chrons and pneumonia He recommends cayenne also as his #1 healer . I take 2 cayenne capsules a day for my chrons.
