Is there a relationship between recurrent boils under both armpits and remicade? I noticed that I developed boils under both armpits a week prior to my remmicade infusion. I applied an antibacterial cream and warm compressions and thought they would go on their own.

Since my infusion was delayed for almost 10 days (finally took it), theses boils went into a cycle of disappearance and recurrence.

I've been on remicade since 2009 and have not experienced any side effects other than a headache during the induction phase. I do recall someone posting about a pretty significant skin side effect. Have you looked through the forum history?

Can't say that I've heard of that one. My brother gets those kind of boils (or cysts) under his underarms (he doesn't have Crohn's btw). They kept coming back until the doctor went in and cleaned it out AND removed the lining of it. He said it would just keep coming back if they didn't get it all.

Since I've taken my infusion, I noticed that the boils started to disappear and are not painful anymore. Is it just a coincidence and then they would re-emerge? Will wait and see. I remember that they were initially caused by an antiperspirant but I can't figure out the role +/- remicade in the appearance of boils.

So hard to say, I mean we all know Crohn's can effect the skin. Maybe some kind of inflammatory cause that is helped with the Remicade? We have so many issues don't we!
