Hi NCOT,
There are plenty of posters that have opinions that seem idiotic to me and make me roll my eyes. I've found that it's best for my own mental health to just skip those posts and not respond at all. Some folks are genuinely new to the disease and don't know any better, which is completely understandable, but if I'm feeling annoyed, I just skip over it.
I do find the diet stuff very tiresome, even if some people genuinely benefit from diet changes. I hate when people ask me if whatever it is I'm eating is "allowed" with Crohn's disease. I know they don't know any better, but I'm friggin' 58 yrs old. If I'm eating something, then I'm choosing to do so....I don't need uninformed people policing me. Ahh, I started with trying to help you skip stuff, and ended with my own rant
