Hi. I am new at this forum. I was diagnosed with Crohns about
30 years ago when I was 40. I have taken most of the medications normally prescribed without much success. Luckily my disease has not been bad enough that I cant manage from day to day. about
a year ago I began getting diarrhea more frequently, and now it is constant. I have had all the stool samples and blood tests, colonoscopy and a magnetic resonance enteroscopy. about
30 cm of my terminal ilium is nonfunctional. I have been on Humira for about
8 months now and dont think it is working. I never have pain in my lower right quadrant.
Having said all that here is my question. What happens to me is that after I eat (not always) I feel as though my small intestine just below my stomach swells up and almost closes off the lumen. I actually know this is happening because I have stomach growling that can be heard on the other side of the room. Embarassing.
It also looks like I'm pregnant. My intestines have definitely swelled up. Do any of you have similar symptoms? I am lactose free and that doesn't change things, and I tested negative for celiac disease. Thanks for your help.
