I agree - it's probably a mistaken word. I'm not sure how it works in the UK, but I know in the US, sometimes the doctor literally records his/her thoughts into a voice recorder, and then that is typed up by somebody who may have no medical knowledge whatsoever. That happened with my records in the hospital once, and the records were so full of errors it was comical.
As for hepatitis, if I remember right, hep A is more common, makes you pretty sick for a couple of weeks, but is a self-limited illness that gets cleared. Hep B and C are the chronic ones that keep coming back and can damage the liver. You would need blood tests and liver tests to know if you had hepatitis and if so, which type.
