ok so i am currently under "undiagnosable" highly probable crohn's
2 trips to ER in past 2 days due to extreme pain and TMJ disorder- second time
i have arthritis everywhere. new locking jaw problem.
i am in so much pain. right side of abdomen is in severe pain
diarrhea 5-10x/day -- very thin at 100 lbs at 5'7
skin rashes
migraines and fatigue too
symptoms for several months

is this GI going to give me some sort of relief? i see GI in few hours
or i am going to be kept in limbo not knowing what is making me so ill

the ER think i have crohn's but cannot prove it. i just want relief from whatever this is.
but i do not have any images. to show it.

how do you know when something is emergency or not with this?

i just hurt everywhere and all i have is tylenol 3 and instructions to use motrin. until i see the GI.

Did the er do a ct scan since you had abdominal pain? Have you had any other test done? If not then your dr may order test which means you may not get any relief til your dr knows what to treat. Best of luck.

I agree with Bucko.
Also I don't believe the ER is your best bet for getting a dignosis. You really need a team with a Primary care doctor, GI and if they can't give you answers, probably a rheumatologist and maybe even a dermatologist given the symptoms you also mentioned in your previous post. It sometimes takes multiple doctors working on a case for a little while and seeing you multiple times to put things together. Good luck and let us know how it goes!

Agree with the advice given. You absolutely need some diagnostics done pronto. You should be having a colonoscopy with biopsies done. A CT scan is concise, but a lot of radiation involved. I would request an MRE instead. You will also need a full blood work up. Have them check for C-reactive protein, sedimentation rate, iron, iron stores, vitamin D, RBC, WBC.

i am getting the C reactive protein results from blood this week.
they are screening for all sorts of different things
because GI referred me to rheumatologist. said he think it is not GI that it is all coincidental. rheumatologist did not agree with that and thinks it is GI.
think it is time to get a different GI.
but i did get him to order small bowel imaging exam, reluctantly

yes ER did the CT
and i agree ER will never be able to help with whatever is going on; the doctor was taking notes in a note pad examining me in ER; clearly concerned and did advise me that this is GI but that there are no complications found in CT and i am assuming that means perforations etc ... so at least there is a good sign there
i just want relief but i am going to have to wait
last night was miserable. i was unable to sleep from pain though and the pain meds they told me to take only made the pain worse in my stomach. entire right abdomen felt as if someone had needles in it. woke up after 1 hour of sleep and the bottom right felt like it was throbbing.
it has subsided but seems to be worst at night.

getting small bowel follow through tomorrow.
in so much pain
had to take advil because joints all over hurt
know it is not good for the stomach
but have nothing else
and Tylenol-codeine 3 made me have worse pain the other night where i could not sleep.

feel like i am dying
and scared because no one can find anything and i had to submit tests for lupus and sjorgen's but have not gotten those results. i really doubt i have lupus but GI made rheumatologist do those tests...because he insisted that it is all coincidental-- but these symptoms appeared, rapidly, and have been ongoing for over 1 month, after experiencing chronic diarrhea and pain in abdomen for over 1 year. i do not think that is coincidental and rheumatologist did not think so either, but oh well.....i am not the "expert"
but maybe tomorrow, they will know what is going on
and if they do not, then i do not know what to do. because i hurt everywhere, but mainly in the right side of abdomen. and i am losing weight despite eating as much as i can, now under 100 lbs.
