No infusion today and for who knows how long!

So let me preface this by saying I saw my OB last Friday when I was 36 weeks pregnant.
I went to my infusion today at 37 weeks pregnant and they wouldn't let me take it.
Here's all the reasons:
1. Your last GI who left the hospital said to not give Remicade infusions to you in the 3rd trimester (but this was not a problem 6 weeks ago when I was 31 weeks and counting) o.O
2. Your new GI is in a procedure and we can't get a hold of her to get permission.
3. You tested positive for Group B strep and so technically you're infected (even though everyone, including my OB, said that this was common for pregnant women and no big deal!)

ARGH
So they sent me home.
Csection is scheduled for June 15th. The infusion lady said she would call me when she knows the plan and to tell me whether or not I can reschedule next week.
I presume the earliest I can get an infusion postpartum is the 19th. I'll be 2 weeks overdue, so 8 and a half weeks since my last infusion.
I could probably handle all of that, if it weren't for the amount of fistula drainage I have now; it always gets worse when my infusion is due, as does my fatigue.
My new GI, who I still haven't even met in person, called me just now and and when I told her this she said she wants me to start taking Entocort or Budesonide either today, or by the time I would get my csection.
She also said that she wants an MRI done after I deliver. She said that that much drainage, aka so much from the fistula and barely anything from the anus, is not right and indicative of other nasty things that she wants to confirm with an MRI. I'm probably going to switch to a different biologic and she needs to see inside to figure out which one gets her vote.
I've never had an MRI and I've never been on a steroid.
I'm supposed to be excited about the baby, but how can I be when all this is happening now?
What does it say about me that my main fear is an MRI that shows nothing wrong?

I'm so sorry you are going through all this. Like you need any added stress.

I can definitely relate to being worried the MRI won't show anything. I'm feeling the same way that my recent colonoscopy didn't provide answers for why I'm still having symptoms. Ugh.

So...
Here is a crazy update!
I go to school and leave my phone in the car because I don't have service.
Get back to my car at 3pm and I have 3 messages. The first one is from my new GI. She says that my OB is fine with me having Remicade/is not concerned with the Strep B, and so I can get my Remicade today if possible or Monday.

The other 2 messages were from the Infusion center asking me to call them back and set up an appointment. I did and I set it up for Monday at 1130am because I have an OB appointment at 245pm that day.
Around 5pm today, I get a call from my new GI. She tells me that she has gotten approval for the Endocort/Budesonide, that she's still waiting for approval for the MRI, which she wants to do after baby is delivered in 13 days. I ask her if I should still take the Entocort and she says yes. She's even willing to do the MRI before baby as well.

Around 530pm today, I get a call from my OB. She tells me that she was gone yesterday and came in this morning to a flurry of emails/flags about me that ask her if Remicade is safe to take during the third trimester and whether or not Strep B is a serious infection. She said that Remicade and Strep B have never been a problem during pregnancy, and wants an update over what's happening with me.
I told her about the Remicade isn't that effective any more, that my GI wants me to start Entocort because she thought as of yesterday that I wouldn't be able to get another Remicade infusion, and wants to do an MRI post-delivery in order to figure out the damage and what new biologic to prescribe. After hearing all that, she says "Why bother with getting a Remicade infusion when she's telling you to take a steroid? Why risk the post-csection complications as a result of having a strong dose of Remicade AND iv antibiotics in your system?"

I told her I agree. She said she will talk with my GI and talk things through on Monday, then hung up.
And then I got another phone call at 6pm from my GI!

She tells me that after talking it over with my OB, she also thinks that there's no point in continuing with Remicade, tells me to cancel my appointment, start taking the Entocort, and prepare to have an MRI done before or after delivery. Moreover, she said that she's expecting my insurance to fight her on this, but she is going to put in the paperwork to get me on Entyvio.

My GI specifically asked me to cancel my Remicade infusion for Monday at 6pm on Friday, so I wasn't able to do it over the phone. It's still there.
I also picked up the prescription for entocort/budesonide. It's sitting here on my kitchen counter. I'm really scared to switch everything and take steroids for the first time.
I've got 11 days. On Wednesday, it will be 7 weeks from my last infusion. I might start the entocort then, but I really can't say for sure.
ARGH
This whole thing is nuts!

Lol, watching something is always a good distraction! Best of luck with all of it!! Having two kids, I can tell you it is definitely worth it. Not in some moments haha, but overall it really is!
