Flaring while on Remicade

Hello, this is my first time posting here. I was diagnosed with Crohn's back in 2006. I have been on Remicade since 2011. It was working well. I used to get mini flares few times a year. But no big deal. Since four months ago, I have been having signs of flares up. I spoke to my GI and he ordered the test. No antibodies and levels of med were fine. He switched me from every 8 weeks to every 6 weeks. I have had another flare since last week. I see my doctor on Wednesday. Has anyone here had flare ups while on Remicade? If yes, what worked to have things under control again?

I have had flares , they just aren't as bad as they were. I have noticed diet and stress trigger the flares so controlling both seems to help.

Artemis111, I am almost sure that stress caused my current flare. When you have flares, do they go away just by Remicade infusion or have you had to take other meds on the side?

I've had flares, but I doubled the dose and moved to every six weeks. It depends on the flare if they go away on their own or not, but typically even just a quick week of prednisone helps more than waiting it out and letting it get worse. Also, get some stool samples and make sure you haven't picked up salmonella or something.

I was thinking of Prednisone as well. I see my doctor on Wednesday and I am going to discuss it with him. Also I will ask him what he thinks of increasing the dosage of Remicade.

Just make sure to get a stool sample, too.
